Showa Kinen Park
Showa Kinen Park is one of the largest parks in Tokyo, about 39 times bigger than Tokyo Dome! Thousands of people visit the park to enjoy the blossoms of around 1,500 cherry trees of about 30 different varieties. “Sakura no Sono” in the northwest corner of Minna no Harappa has big trees of the someiyoshino variety of cherries, making it a popular viewing spot in the park. It’s a great place to relax and enjoy the open sky and landscape lined with cherries.

Tamagawajosui Headrace
The Tamagawajosui Headrace dates back to the Edo period (1603-1868), and continues to provide water to the people in the Musashino Plateau. In the springtime, blossoms of cherries create a beautiful pink tunnel over the water. Take a walk along the canal to enjoy the flowers on the water and the above and the sound of the stream.

Cherry Trees along Zanbori River
The Zanbori River runs through Showa Kinen Park to the west of Negawa Green Way and pours into Tama River around Tappi Bridge. Head to Zanbori River from Negawa Green Way and you’ll be blessed with a beautiful pink tunnel over the water formed by cherry trees along the river. The ground is carpeted with the yellow of rape flowers and wandering butterflies, creating a pleasant contrast in color and a picture book-like scenery. A great sakura spot to remember.

Negawa Green Way
Negawa Green Way is surrounded by lush nature and stretches for 1.3km in the southeast corner of Tachikawa City. Along the road, you can enjoy a hanami in 4 different zones with different themes; creatures, play, relaxation and strolls. Walk along the stream and you will encounter various scenic spots with cherries, and carp fish swimming in the water, and even a kingfisher if you are lucky. Find a charming spot nearby for lunch.

Haru Urara
Kunitachi-Tachikawa Sakura Walk
Every sakura season, the tourism associations of Tachikawa and Kunitachi together to host a walking event. You can start at any spot in Kunitachi or Tachikawa, and enjoy the view of sakura along the route, including popular spots such as Sakura Dori in Kunitachi and Negawa Green Way in Tachikawa, at your own pace. Take a spring stroll with your friends or family. Participants are rewarded with a small gift at the end. The walk is hosted every year between late March to early April.
